Di penghujunga bulan Agustus tahun ini, SMP Negeri 1 Semanu malaksanakan Pengukuhan terhadap pengurus Komite Sekolah Periode 2020 sampai denga 2023. Acara yang cukup spektakuler ini dihadiri oleh Kepala Bidang SMP Dinas Pendidikan Pemuda dan Olahraga Kabuapten Gunungkidul, Bapak Kisworo, S. Pd. M. Pd. Dalam kesempatan itu, telah dikukuhkan langsung oleh Kepala Bidang SMP Pengurus Komite Sekolah yang terdiri dari Ketua yaitu Bapak Soebarno, Sekretaris yaitu Wisnumoyo, Bendahara yaitu Magdhalena Lusi Suprapto, anggota Kuatno dan Heru Sigit Cahyanto. Selain itu, pada kepengurusan periode ini, komite sekolah menugaskan dua orang guru SMP Negeri 1 Semanu sebagai pembantu bendahara dan pembantu sekretaris. Pembantu bendahara dipercayakan Utami Dwi Ratna Asih, sedangkan sekretaris dipercayakan kepada Yulie Purwaningsih.
Dalam sambutannya, Kepala Bidang menyampaikan bahwa tugas Komite Sekoah adalah tugas mulia dan mengemban amanah dari masyarakat, karena di pundak pengurus komite mengemban tugas memajukan sekolah, siswa dan masyarakat.
